Due to our growth, we are currently recruiting for a commercially orientated Electronics Buyer to operate within our growing Procurement & Supply Chain Business Unit. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast moving, busy and friendly environment with plenty of scope for progression.

Department Description:

M-TEK (Assembly) Procurement & Supply Chain Business Unit provides supply chain management support to the business through Supplier Management and Sub-Contract Management.

The Business Unit aims to provide a professional Procurement & Supply Chain Management service to the business from pre-bid to disposal for prime contracts and traditional production business.

Job Description:

You will be responsible for purchasing in an economic manner various components and bespoke customer items to agreed costs delivered to achieve the production plan.

Key Duties:

• Prepare, issue, evaluate and negotiate as needed Request for Quotations
• Determine best value strategies for proposed Procurements
• Identify and deliver commercial cost reductions on non production purchases and establish contractual agreements and automated procurement processes where appropriate
• Maintain professional and compliant procurement records in accordance with organizational procedures
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure their improvement through effective process deployment within M-TEK and the external Supply Chain
• Ensure requirements are relayed in an effective and timely way
• Responsible for ensuring on-time delivery
• Responsible for ensuring system data is maintained and support the effective generation of Procurement metrics
• Be involved in providing commercial, contract and negotiation support to the wider company
• Liaise with Materials Control, Warehousing, Operations, Finance and Sales to ensure lean and efficient commodities FIFO process

Experience Required

• The Ideal candidates will hold a business related degree or equivalent, supply chain management or MCIPS and must be able to demonstrate recent (within last 6-12months) procurement experience with the Electronics industry, proficient in Excel and previously worked with an MRP/ERP system
• You will have experience in commercial and contract negotiations associated with the procurement of services, non production / production purchasing, products and commodities
• You will have experience in managing electronic and electromechanical suppliers and setting up buffer stocks agreements
• A good understanding of purchasing practices, materials and technologies employed in electronic systems manufacture.
• Specific Experience of Electronics and or Electro-Mechanical Assemblies a desired
• Understanding specific project concerns regarding acquisition issues
• An ability to interface well at all levels within the business and outside to customers, partners and suppliers
• Personal skills enabling a functional culture to operate around effective teamwork
• An additional European language would be a plus
